SS / Police Structure

Recommended Posts

This thread is just a brief description of the SS and Police as an introduction for anyone wishing to join this branch.

(Platinum VIP) The 1.SS Division Liebstandarte ‘Adolf Hitler’ are Hitler's personal guard. Brigades of the division are stationed between capitals and important cities. Their job is to stay close to the Ministry of the Interior and take part in any large operations. They are the elite members of the 1.SS.

The Berliner Ordnungspolizei, abbreviated Orpo, were the uniformed police force in Nazi Germany between 1936 and 1945 and encompassed virtually all of Nazi Germany's law-enforcement and emergency response organisations, including fire brigades, coast guard, and civil defence. As the city's police force, they deal with civilian crime and patrols while they also assist the government and the SS whenever requested.

(VIP) The Gestapo was created by Hermann Göring in 1933 by combining the executive and the judicial branches into one power. Beginning on 20 April 1934, it was under the administration of SS national leader Heinrich Himmler, who in 1936 was appointed Chief of German Police (Chef der Deutschen Polizei) by Hitler. In 1936, Himmler made it a suboffice of the Sicherheitspolizei (SiPo) ("Security Police"). Then from 27 September 1939 forward, it was administered by the Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) (Reich Main Security Office) and was considered a sister organization of the Sicherheitsdienst(Security Service).

Sicherheitsdienst or SD was the intelligence agency of the SS and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany. Originating in 1931, the organization was the first Nazi intelligence organization to be established and was considered a sister organization with the Gestapo (formed in 1933) through the integration of SS members and operational procedures. Between 1933 and 1939, the SD was administered as an independent SS office,  after which it was transferred to the authority of the Reich Main Security Office (Reichssicherheitshauptamt; RSHA), as one of its seven departments/offices. Its first director, Reinhard Heydrich, intended for the SD to bring every single individual within the Third Reich's reach under "continuous supervision".
