Star Wars RP, MAJOR 2021 UPDATE IS OUT NOW! "The Galatic Roleplay Update"

Recommended Posts

Star Wars RP - Major Update Log

Document by Spades, Clopter, and Barry.

Since taking over as Manager on Star Wars, we had been looking at ways we could make the non-Clone and non-Jedi jobs (Scavenger, Refugee etc) more usable, and have an actual purpose on the server. As it is now, there are some quite interesting concepts for the jobs - disguise vendor etc, which provides a unique style of roleplay which hasn’t been capitalized on very well to actually have a purpose rather than being “minge” jobs.

With this idea in mind, I present to you the ‘Galactic Roleplay Update’. We had noticed a slight trend on the server when Werwolf Gaming’s DarkRP was released - on Star Wars, the player count would be up on Events but would drop when there was no event, with some players choosing to go play on DarkRP, where they could do stuff without an EP having to organize something (Weed Growing, Raiding etc).

Navas and I, with the input of some other members of Staff, came up with the initial basis of an idea which would allow players to have more freedom to roleplay on the server during non-Event time, when they usually are just standing around or shooting some bottles for a logging in TR1.

We have taken aspects from other servers which are found to have worked well, and which have been found to be enjoyed by the respective player bases and adapted them in order to suit the roleplay we are aiming for on our server and given them a few Star Wars themed twists with the aim of providing you guys a much more enjoyable time on the server between events and give you some more freedom on the server…

Criminal Jobs

Pirates

Pirates are a criminal faction that specialise in mugging, raiding, setting up ambushes and kidnapping people, they do this mainly to get republic credits or information from an interrogation to assist them in the future with activities such as raiding the main base by creating weapons, getting vehicles, etc...

Pirates can help out the cartel or any other criminal organisations by doing jobs such as raiding or protection for them for credits or information but they cannot side with the republic. If they are not hired by any organisation then they are hostile towards every organisation. Their end goal is to get as many credits as possible to get rich.

When Can Pirates Kill

Pirates cannot randomly go up to someone and kill them, they must have a valid RP reason to kill them, valid RP reasons include:

  • Raids

  • Counters

  • Ambushes

  • Execution of prisoners

  • Failure to give money in mugging

Pirate Ranking Order

There is also a pirate ranking structure, this makes it so that orders can be given out and the organisation can stay stable and be able to do their job more efficiently, if you do not follow your higher-ups then they may punish you by torturing you or killing you. The leader / higher-up may not give out orders that break OOC rules, if you are caught doing this you will have your whitelist to your job whitelist removed.

The Cartel

The Cartel are another criminal faction, albeit one who operates in a much more organised fashion. As such their goals are centred around criminal business activities, such as the creation and distribution of narcotics, and in general profiting from the general population.

The Cartel can recruit any civilians and pirates to their cause as and when is necessary.

When Can the Cartel Kill?

As the Cartel’s main business interests centre around extorting and profiting from the population they can not initiate combat unless provoked, such as in self defense or if someone was to uncover part of their illegal operations. In the case of the criminal business being discovered kidnapping may be the first logical step in dealing with people however.

Cartel Members

When IC Cartel members are unaware of the identities or whereabouts of other Cartel members, unless they have previously met them face to face. The exception to this is the Cartel leader, who knows the names of all active cartel members.

Cartel Infiltrator

This Cartel member is an exception to much of the above. Their primary purpose is to make their way into republic bases in disguise and steal parts to sell. whilst in the disguise they authorised to take lethal action should not doing so risk their cover being blown, but as such are able to be combat cuffed as are clones. Infiltrators are able to join in any raids alongside other cartel and allied pirates.

Petty Thief

The petty thief is a job that focuses on robbing people who are unable to defend themselves such as civilians, doctors, mechanics, etc…, their main goal is to make money while staying under the republic's radar so they can continue their job smoothly without any trouble. Petty thieves cannot be hired and are expected to be able to do their job solo.

What Can a Petty Thief Raid?

Petty thieves are able to raid player homes and small buildings that are owned by civilians, the only time they are able to raid republic bases is when that base is currently being raided, then they are able to assist in it.

When Can a Petty Thief Kill?

A petty thief should only kill someone if they are defending themselves, they may shoot someone to scare them into giving them credits or shooting near them, they should not kill someone unless it is absolutely necessary.

Tusken Raiders

Tusken Raiders are a neutral faction, they have no allegiance to any other republic or non republic group, and as such are not able to alliance up with them. Tusken Raiders will operate under the principle that they can and will raid bases they see.

Who can they work with?

As stated above Tusken Raiders are not affiliated with any other group/organisation, they can however join in other factions ongoing raids.

When can they kill?

Tusken Raiders can ambush any group of four or more people, in addition to killing other criminal factions when counter raiding. The usual rules regarding minimum members to raid are not applied to Tusken Raiders due to their only being three of them at any one time, and as such it only requires three Tuskens to raid any building which requires three or more.

What Can Mercenaries Do?

Mercenaries are able to be hired to protect civilians in cases of a raid or just to walk around and protect them in case someone tries to mug them, they are also able to be hired by a criminal organisation to assist in raids, ambushes and kidnappings or just to protect their base, they are also able to be hired by the republic as an extra soldier or to assist CG in catching criminals. This does not mean that they are able to be hired to kill someone like a bounty hunter or a hitman.

New Features

Inventory System

An inventory system has been added in to compliment the addition of being able to salvage and steal items, this does however work differently to the jedi inventory. With this new inventory any items accrued will not pass over when you log out, die or respawn via switching jobs etc, so any items you wish to keep need to be deposited in the bank.

Mining

Mining is another new feature whereby as the name states, you mine. Mining can be done by anyone, they simply need to find the mining NPC, acquire a pickaxe, and find a compatible mining node on the map. Mining a node will yield various ores, which can then be crafted at a mining station into ingots and sold for a profit or can be used in crafting weapons.

Deathsticks

Deathsticks can now be acquired by growing them much the same as it is for growing weed on DarkRP. Once the plants have grown they can be farmed and the buds added to your inventory, at this point you can either sell them to an NPC or personally sell them to other players for a profit.

(For anyone accustomed to how weed growing works on DarkRP, the way it works on here will be slightly different, as the plants will require constant supervision to avoid them dying before they are fully mature.)

Weapon Crafting

How weapon crafting works is you have to find republic supply caches, these can be found in republic bases and you simply hold E on it, once the timer is up it will drop 2-3 parts. After getting the weapon parts you have to get ingots from mining. Once you collect enough of these resources, you are able to create your selected weapon.

Weapon Stealing

If you have the pickpocket function in your inventory all you have to do is find someone with a weapon out, then you are able to hold left click to steal it, it will then switch to the next weapon in line and if you get lucky you will be able to steal more and more weapons from their inventory including clearance level keycards.

Bank Robbery

If a certain map has a bank on it then pirates are able to raid it, how you do this is by typing in chat /raidapply if you are starting the raid, if you want to assist in the raid you will have to do /raidassist, then a staff member will accept or deny your raid request. Once it is accepted you will enter the bank and locate the vault, once you have done that you will have to hold E on it until you get the money, it will not go straight into your account since it is ‘dirty money’ so you will have to find an NPC and trade it with them so you get ‘clean money’.

Data Robbery

Data Robbery works by locating a compatible terminal, and stealing the data by holding E on it (the only jobs able to steal data from these terminals are Pirate leader/first mate & Cartel leader and smuggler) Once the terminal has been successfully hacked it will disappear and be replaced by a data disk, which is then added to your inventory on pick up and can be sold to the relevant NPC.

Raiding

To raid a building you will have to do /raidapply in chat, if you want to assist in the raid you will have to do /raidassist in chat, once you have done this you will have to wait for a staff member to accept your raid request, you will get a notification on the bottom left hand side of your screen saying if your raid has been accepted or denied. If it gets accepted you may carry on your raid, if you die during the raid you will have to wait until your NLR timer is over before going back to the raid and partaking in it, if everyone in the raid dies then the staff member supervising will end the raid and you will be notified. You must also have a certain amount of people if you plan on raiding a certain building, you can find this in the rules section.

Communications

Instead of the generic /advert there is now a communication system, depending on what job you are on there will be different ways to advert for example, if you want to speak in republic comms which include all clones, jedi and admiralty you would do /republic, it will show what communications are available to you once you spawn in on your new job in the chat box.

Jobs that can steal communication devices by doing /stripcomms so they can hear into the comms they have stolen include

  • CG CO+ and CG ARC

  • RC Except RC Auxiliary

  • High Command

  • Cartel Leader

  • Cartel Guard

  • Pirate Captain

  • Pirate Firstmate

Jobs that cannot have their communication devices stripped include

  • Enlisted Troopers

  • Battalion Security

  • Advanced Battalion Security

  • Super Trooper

  • Republic Droid

  • Civilian

  • Moisture Farmer

  • Bartender

  • Doctor

  • Mechanic
